If you need to cancel, you can release your ticket so that it can go to someone on the waitlist. Space is limited to 12 attendees, so reserve a ticket ONLY if you are sure you can make it. Please register via Eventbrite to confirm your attendance. Take the turnoff to the trailhead on the right and continue a short distance uphill to the parking lot.
Turn right onto Lake Dorothy Road and drive 0.3 miles. Follow SE Middle Fork Road 2.2 miles to the stop sign at the junction with SE Dorothy Lake Road. Head north on 468th Ave SE for approximately half a mile until the intersection with the SE Middle Fork Road. The New Trail is well maintained but has many switchbacks, so pacing will feel much fasterĭogs: Discouraged, but must be leashed if you choose to bring one getting there Take Exit 34 off of I-90 and drive north on 468th Ave SE for 0.5 mile. The new trail switchbacks to the summit for 11.2 miles round trip. The original path heads straight up the ridge through the forest to the rocky summit for a 6-miles round trip. Pacing: Slow to moderate the Old Trail is unmaintained and very steep so pacing will be slower going up to accommodate for navigation and safety. We will officially start hiking at 8:00am, but start time is set to 7:30 to account for any latecomers).ĭistance: We will take the OLD TRAIL up and NEW TRAIL down, totaling about 7 miles roundtrip Time: 7:30 AM - Note: The main parking lot typically opens at 8:00am, so please prepare to arrive early to get in line to enter the lot or park down the road and walk up to the trailhead. Must be physically prepared for long, strenuous activity and have previous experience with similar hikes. Trail Rating: BLACK: Strenuous hike, possibly unmaintained or unmarked trail, some navigation is likely, elevation gain 4,000ft+, moderate to high altitude.
